“This harsh, year long winter has affected us all greatly. We all suffer from illness and hunger, we all know friends or family members that have died or grown close to death… and yet. And yet the offworlders all seem healthy, well fed, content to let us suffer while they prosper. This is insulting enough as it is. But now they steal hope from us.
I recently acquired a poorly made ruby in a game of chance. An unremarkable gem, seemingly unimportant, I had planned on donating it to the temple. The offworlders got to me first, after a brief conversation they revealed that the gem was indeed not a ruby at all but could be a source to end this unnatural winter once and for all. At first I was duly grateful and paid them for this most valuable information and instantly headed toward the mage guild to activate the dormant heat. However, those treacherous offworlders refused to let me protect this which I love, and used amazingly powerful magic wielded by a powerful elven mage to hold me in place while the most evil of them took the ‘ruby’ right out of my pocket and fled the city so that they could benefited themselves and help their precious village which has more than enough food to feed themselves already.
I call upon all you dragonkin that love this city, I call upon all you dragonkin that have suffered from this winter, I call upon all you dragonkin that have ever been slighted by these offworlders; do not deal with any of them, do not even allow them to stand in their arrogance in our own city, do not allow them to prosper at our expense. Any elven mage, any Halfling, any human, is to be apprehended and searched thoroughly for the gem they stole.”
