Machina ex Dannu

...and so we find our heroic adventurers returning from Morzelmore to their offworlder village. But wait, what's this? Ellidy spots a rusted piece of junk golem lying in the river! After much coaxing (physically, mentally, and with shock treatment), Ameilia, Jodro, and Ellidy manage to push it up onto the shore and reactivate it. Shana supervised.

Once Ellidy had activated it with an electric spell, it starts taking orders directly from her--in elven. The unconscious thought of everyone present was that it is a good thing Ellidy knows elven.

The elven bard managed to set the shield guardian into a stumbling follow mode, which gets it to the minotaur hill. Oh, no! The golem detects a hostile presense! It querries Ellidy for instructions, and she sets it into attack mode. Even more oh, no! The hostile presense detected was none other than the Dark Wanderer, who quickly makes work of the golem.

Fortunately, the golem's automatic repair systems kick in and it soon returns to attacking the threat (as well as some nearby minotaurs). After losing round two with the axe-wielding wanderer, the Ellidy manages to remove the hostile flag the golem had tagged on the Dark Wanderer. The group continued on towards the village, and someone realizes it might be wise to give the golem to the svirfneblin gnome, Dannu, who is extremely mechanically competent (He could build a radio out of two cocoanuts, if he could find some nearby.).

So the group meanders towards the Temple of Sune, the golem putting all its resources in maintaining a walk. Parts of it fail, and sparks fly everywhere as the left arm becomes unuseable!

As expected, the golem finds Elpis and Dannu to both be hostiles, but Ellidy wisely does not initiate attack mode. Instead, she commands the shield guardian to open its access pannels and power down. The excited gnome quickly disassembles it, finding that the golem was powered by a rogue stone. He tells the group it will take a while to make something of the shield guardian, but that it was pretty much scrap (also as expected) as a golem.
