New Rocky Desert, winter and Rocky

Mountains v2.2
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=1497
The next three tilesets are included within the JXP Mountains combo pack. I can not find these updated versions listed anywhere else alone. This tileset was created by a collection of community members and has a nice collection of added tiles.

Rocky Mountains v1.04
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=1497
A darker shade of rocks on this Rocky Mountain but very much like the one above.

Snowy Mountains
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=1497
Winter themed mountains much like the one above

Dungeons & Dragons "Roofs on standard Tilesets"
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=7636
May not be compatible with every other standard tileset remake so do some testing before you start to do some hardcore stuff with this. But these Tilesets are the perfect roof adjustment to your standard tilesets vs just putting a roof placeable ontop of your areas. Not saying that is bad but once in awhile you may not again want every area to always look the same. And you can choose what Roof Tileset you want if you dont wish to use them all. Castle Roof , Castle2 roof, Drow Roof , Mind-Flayer Roof, Sewer Roof, City2 ,city1 , Dungeon Roof, Crypt Roof.

caves and mines and underdark

Post by Skunkeen »

Hellish Caves
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=7476
Hot as hell and driping with blood at a few spots the Hellish caves is a location that should make timid characters pee their little damn pants in fright! A pure wicked remake of mines and caverns with ceiling.

Senemenalas' Underdark Tileset
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=7750
HOLY $#!^!!! you gotta check out the well of torment! If you enjoy the underdark setting then this tileset is a must!!! A Very new tileset as this guide is being written, Lots of tiles to keep you busy where your players are no longer in a flat world. A rare gem few have cought onto yet. This includes two tilesets a main one and a Mines and caverns one. comments posts report this is not updated yet for the german version of NWN1. new one to me too *shrugs*

Underdark Spidercaves
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=7536
this tileset is listed as "the Underdark" when you add it to your module. But these are a wicked collection of caves that do look wicked for some spiders. Great along side tilesets like Rocky Mountains but really good for almost any type cave that you would want to give a new creepy effect for your players.

Organic Mines V2.0
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=2214
Organic mines is another caves and mines remake to give it a very green and slimey or acid look. Sadly it is missing a ceiling like other more modern cave tilesets since 2004. Always wondered where Ooze monsters come from.

Cave Ruins 1.1
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=6992
by the CTP team so you know it will be perfect. A remake of the Standard Mines and caves with roofs and a massive dwarven halls. A must to update your adventures to give your players the greatest visual effect vs the standard mines and caverns tileset

Caves and Mines
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=7723
This set is a collection of remakes with roofs to give you a different look that you might be wanting for your caves. a remake of Cave Ruins 1.1 made to look more fitting for a desert cave , Hellish caves made to look more for a volcano mountain cavern, the Bioware natural mines and caves with roof, and Ice caverns that seem more grayish. Might conflict if your usen CTP Cave Ruins 1.1

Kuo-Toa Caves
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=5660
A very wicked new look to the Cavens and mines tileset with two different tilesets and a new dungeon tileset that fits the them of the Pyramid added to the inside of the Kuo-Toa mines and caverns. a older set and does not have a roof but this has a great beauty to it. If Organic Mines isnt the effect you are wanting check this one out. For "caves with Pyramid" is slightly slimey looking. While "Cave alt-tex" tileset is more underdark looking of these remakes.

MGS Frozen Wastelands
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=1834
With a pure blue frozen ice water theme remake of the mines and caverns. not fully frozen for there are drinking spots and it is a older tileset that does not have the modern cave roof's.

DC Ice Cavern
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=4551
A oldie but goodie this tileset only comes within a set of other tilesets but it is very likely the most true Ice cavern out there. The walls almost seem to look really like ice and have a slight transparent reflective mirror glare to them with the other side of the walls from each other. Again this is a older tileset and with out a roof on this Mines and caverns remake.

All caves with Roof
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=6913
here you will find a verity collection of Cave tilesets all with roofs to them. my eyes could be playing tricks on me but it looks like a few of them are retextures of some Cave tilesets already within this list. Like the Koa Toa Caves, Caverns no water, Green caverns , update with rood to the standard Cave and mines tileset, Mossy Cavern , Volcano Cavern, Ice Cavern no water, Marine Caverns , Snow Caverns and the Barbarians tileset that are alike but strangely have the Pits, Grass and water confused and a raise and lower feature I could not get to work.

Underdark Ruins
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... 6905#Files
adds 12 building ruins to the underdark tileset and adds a extra "underdark expanded" tileset not needed if done twice but it is. but within the underdark it is not too uncommon for comfortable dwellings to become sucked up by the wild things that lurk in the darkness of the Underdark.

Underground City
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... 5082#Files
known as drw tileset when you add it to your module then now you have the greatest expansion for the Underdark tileset to make your underdark areas truely look like the Dungeons & Dragons Underdark Areas. You must see this if you are a fan!
Aztec Interior
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=6513
this Aztec Interior can be used for alot more then just the Aztec theme. there is a wicked verity of interior designs to choose from. The choice is up to you between this origional from Chandigar or Mondego's reskin. Another tileset that words can not discribe with justice. You have to see these.
This version by Chandigar is not compadable with Mondego's reskin. It will be up to you to choose what version you want.
I never got to thank Chandigar for the Aztec interior. It was the basis for the Egyptian Interior. I'll do it now. Thanks M8.:thumb:

Egyption interior Make over
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Ha ... il&id=7210
Bold looking and full of nicely done egyptian artwork all over the place the Egyptian interior would go greatly with use of the CTP Babylon desert tileset and maybe with the Mondego's Atlantis tileset. the artwork included into this tileset positivly give your players a tomb feel. The lighting from this tileset as my friend Winterhawk from Harvest Moon PW found is very bight and bold. I suggest adjusting the area lighting properties to be "interior Torch-lit" throw in alot of old deadly gas traps as well and when those are set off you have a great ultimate egyption tomb effect with Neverwinter Nights. CEP and CCP includes some wicked monsters and some placeables that also fit greatly into this tileset.
I'll get Winter to show me how to adjust the lighting suitably. Any other ideas for improvements anyone?

Hate to bring up old news, but I really like this thread and don't really know why flac is being shot around. The problem is that tilesets, and other CC, are really hard to judge. There is a lot of bad blood amongst people in the CC community where if you offer an opinion about one person's work, someone else is going to bash the work, or maybe even you. I for one, commend Skunk for taking the time to do this list. It is something I, personally, would not undertake. Too much time involved and I don't have a whole lot of spare time as it is. If you don't agree with Skunk's assessment, post a retort, or maybe even your own evaluation. After all, they are all just opinions.

I say, keep up the good work Skunk. You've found a couple of gems that I didn't know about! :thumb:

I dont see why there should be bad blood. *bleeding myself into a bowl right now just in case* Ive seen alot of really good stuff on shurkens list and commend him for going through and doing this. Everyone who does stuff on the vault i appriciate because they take the time and care enough to share with the community. gives 2 pennies to everyone here :)

I agree 100%. An excellent thread. Every new tileset I explore inspires me with a new plot line. A small part wishes I hadn't found it (Distracting) but most of me goes WOOT!!! :thumb:

Thank you very much you fella's made me very happy youve found some rare unknown gems in this list. I am positive it would make the creators of these tilesets greatly happy as well to see these actually get used to entertain other gamers.

I am having some great problems finding the full credits for all of these tilesets and some submissions on the vault I believe might have a few mixed up themselves on who made what. I worry to point them out in fear any CC creator or submitter might take a great offence if my facts are incorrect talking about some creators I barely know. Doing this review I was at the mercy of submitter's to include credits. Should any one from our community help forge a new gaming community with any other please encourage full credits and learn from our community mistakes. I am sorry to disapoint any readers of this with not having a full detailed list of credits but it really should be the submitters responsibility and I would like to avoid any other possible confrentaition and just go by what info is provided by the submitters at their vault page link.

I did have a few more disagreements with custom content creators outside of this forum but I am not going to hold any grudges and hope nor will they in time also.

Thinking of changing the name of this review to be more of a tour guide to community tilesets insted of listing these tilesets as the top 100 best. I have found more then 100 community made tilesets that I can not ignore that I feel are really creative and useful and only knew of 75% of them from actually playing through them before I went hunting to work on this list.

"Guide to Community Tilesets 2010"
"tour to community Tilesets 2010"
"Review of Community Tilesets (2010)"

I could also finalize this list and go with 2009 but like many others I also read the nwn vault news almost daily to see what is new for both NWN1&2. I would have no problems to update this list till the end of the year with some community help please. In a rush to work on PWcon and NWCon then ill set the forum on fire again here with another topic in the future.

Working on the web page now to help the NWNP team then I will update the starting topics in this forum.

Thank you RPGModding.com for letting me work on this review here with your wicked cool members.

I am moving this topic over to the CEP forums so I may get better insight with their plans and contents with the newly added and updated C.R.A.P tilesets and to reach out to their forum community as well for more input and suggestions of tilesets.

I will still continue to check here for any news , Suggestions or input as well.
